ManyCam v7 – A Free Webcam Software and Video Switcher

Spread the love

ManyCam v.7 | by Visicom Media, Inc. | Standard/Studio/Premium(Enterprise)

Visicom has made a lot of improvements to their software over the years, still has a reputation of being a bit buggy, and recently added many long awaited features directed more toward live streamers rather than just Skype callers.  This still doesn’t change my love-hate relationship with this software. It has been around many years, has garnished many followers and I expect it to be around for many years to come. Did you see what I did there?

"Let's Make ManyCam Great Again!"

ManyCam is software I would classify as wonderfully fun and socially engaging. It’s really of no less professional quality than the rest of the bunch, but there always seems to be a few bugs under the hood that disrupt the flow. The new beta interface was recently deployed, so we’ll have to do some more testing to see if this one can hold it’s position like it has for the many years it’s has already.  According to the website, they have received many awards from various entities, inluding CNET!

ManyCam’s latest software offering broadcasts to Facebook, YouTube, Twitch, Ustream, Livestream, and a host of others. Multiple video sources, green screen, IP cameras, multiple channel broadcasting, PnP, fun effects and a mobile app, so you won’t be lacking in any department if you make this your software of choice. The free version output is watermarked and lacks.

The company recently changed its pricing structure from a one-time fee over to a subscription plan. Many are OK with it, and Many others are NOT. It’s my honest opinion that software of this nature should be licensed for use indefinitely, and not over-capitalized upon as a pay-as-you-go-kinda-service-thing, that's best saved for streaming websites.

UPDATE: Manycam users must have made a stink over at Visicom, cuz I see in there latest release that they have reinstated the lifetime license model!  Yay!  For a the last year I had stopped promoting ManyCam at all when it went over to the annual subscriptions.  I'm happy to see the one-time pricing is still available.

  1. my Dell Inspiron 15 7569 laptop has an integrated camera, it records and takes video flipping the image, any solution on how I can fix that and how I can record as how the image is previewed, it uses the windows 10 camera app

    1. Most, if not all of the applications reviewed here have a method of mirroring your camera, you’ll usually find that setting within the input itself, or the camera settings for the user. I highly recommend the free version of vMix to fix this issue

  2. Lifeframe is not on my Asus G750JM. Also the Function key V does not produce a result. However I asked Cortana “”take a photo”” and it let me click on something called Camera, which filled the screen. And there I had the choice of snapping a photo or making a video. So I did not have to install anything. I did right-click on the Camera icon and said “”Pin to Taskbar”” so I could find it later.

  3. Suddenly my logitech program’s sound is super soft. It doesn’t matter what I do it sucks.. OBS causes lags with recording but sounds is good.. xsplit has this echo I can’t seem to remove. windows thing doesn’t work.. I’m so screwed.. I have to wait 2 more months before I can get a new phone 🙁 and vdub isn’t easy to use… I’m a bit clueless what to do.
